Look of the Day: Just Another Full Midi Skirt

Full printed midi skirt
Today's post will be very brief as I'm recovering from a nasty cold and the spells of dizziness make it hard for me to stare at the computer screen for longer periods of time.

Anyway...as you can see, today I'm wearing another full midi skirt. I bet you must be getting fed up of seeing them on my blog.

This particular skirt first debuted on My Daily Wear last year. I admit that I after showing it off on the blog, I hanged it in my wardrobe and completely forgot about its existence. Oops.

Joe Browns Matching Blazer and Full Skirt

Joe Browns Matching Blazer and Full Skirt
Happy Monday! I hope your week started on a great note. Today I'm really excited to show you a matching set that I got from Joe Browns a few weeks ago (if you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen a sneak peak of this outfit)

I know what you're thinking right now...She is wearing another full skirt. Well, what can I say? I just love this style of skirts as they are so flattering and sophisticated. I know some of you are a bit shy to experiment with full skirts so today I decided to share with you simple tips on how you can wear this feminine silhouette. Let's start...

1. If your skirt features a bold print, pair it with a solid colour (for example here).
2. Don't be afraid to mix textures (for example, today I paired my skirt with a ruffle shirt).
3. If you're petite, try wearing a skater skirt instead. It is equally feminine.
4. You can wear a full skirt even if you prefer to dress in a casual way. Simply, pair yours with a tee, tank top or a denim jacket (for example here).
5. If you want to create a sexy but demure look, wear a full skirt with a cropped top.

Are you wearing full skirts? How are you styling yours?

Look of the Day: Frills

lavender frilled jumper
Don't you love it when something you've been lusting over for ages goes on sale? That happened to me last month while I was browsing the H&M website.

After adding the yellow skirt that I showed you here to the basket, I decided to check their sales section. To be honest I didn't have much hope that I would find anything there but I decided to give it a go anyway. As soon as I landed on the page, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that a jumper I added to my top secret Pinterest board and featured in the February wish list post, was reduced from £35 to £10.49.

With frills around the neckline and sleeves, this ribbed jumper is really soft to the touch. I have so many ideas about how to style it but today I decided take a fairly minimalistic approach and team it with slim fit trousers, lavender heels and my new Primark bag.

What do you think of today's look? I look forward to reading your comments.

My Little Garden Box

My Little Garden Box
Happy Monday! I hope you're enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend and didn't miss me too much over the past few days. I took an unplanned break from blogging as I wanted to focus more energy on my new website which is slowly coming together. The big launch is planned for 29th May so save the date and feel free to connect with Her Hive on FacebookTwitter and Instagram. You can also join our mailing list for updates and self-care tips.
My Little Garden Box

Today I'm really excited to do another unboxing post as April edition of My Little Box landed on my doorstep the other day. With a 'Garden' theme, the box was jammed with goodies which are right up my street. So without a further ado, here is what I got last month.
My Little Garden Box

As I have a sensitive and acne-prone skin, beauty products from subscription boxes are usually a hit and miss for me. However, this month I can't complain as I received exactly what I needed. Among the products there were a Vitamin Shot Face Scrub and Easy Morning moisturiser (both from My Little Beauty) and a Restoring Body Lotion from Mixa. I've never come across Mixa before but as soon as I started using the lotion I've noticed that it has done wonders for my skin. It's really nourishing and fast absorbing so I don't have to wait ages for it to absorb before getting dressed.

When it comes to lifestyle products, My Little Garden Box included a really pretty scarf which you can wear in multiple ways. As I can't pull off the neck scarf look, I've decided to put it on my work bag instead. Inside the box, I also found a water bottle fruit infuser which reminded me that I need to drink more water, magnetic shopping list pad, a seasonal fresh produce calendar, and a sample of Ape Crunchy Coconut Bites that are delicious and great for satisfying sugar cravings.

What do you think of My Little Garden Box? Is there any product you would like to try?

Look of the Day: H&M Jacquard Full Midi Skirt

H&M Jacquard Full Midi Skirt
Today I'm really excited to show you the latest addition to my skirt collection which has turned out to be a real head turner. I literally lost count of how many compliments I got after wearing it twice last week. In case you are wondering, it is one of the latest gems I found in H&M. Yes, you heard me right. The skirt is H&M.

I can honestly say that H&M has truly stepped up their game when it comes to skirts. While many people praised them, I could never find anything that would be long enough to protect my modesty. Everything I tried on before barely covered my bum and I'm not a giant (I'm only 5'9")

However, this yellow jacquard skirt is a perfection. The thickness of the fabric makes it swish when I walk and it doesn't crease, which is important to me as I absolutely hate ironing. I love this skirt so much that I'm thinking about ordering this one which is slightly pricier but equally amazing. Shall or I shall I not? That's the question.

#GirlCrush Subscription Box

#GirlCrush Subscription Box
Raise your hands if you're a fan of subscription boxes? Well, in that case you might be interested to read today's post as I'm about to tell you about a new box I've subscribed to.

#Girlcrush is a subscription service that prides itself on championing girl bosses. Each box features 8 fashion, beauty and lifestyle products that are tailored to your unique preferences such as a favourite colour, skin type or dress size. In addition, each month 10% of box sale profits are donated to a women's charity.

As an aspiring female entrepreneur, I thought it was a great concept and I ordered my first box out of curiosity to see what I would find inside.
Maison Ves candle

Maison Ves #BossBabe candle - Interestingly, all Maison Ves candles feature hashtags in their names. This one has a lovely grapefruit and jasmine scent and retails at £42.
#GirlCrush Subscription Box

Gavelo Los Angeles leggings - I'm on a mission to improve my fitness levels so I'm sure these leggings will get plenty of wear. Although they looked quite small to me when I opened the package, I was somehow able to squeeze my bum into them #littlevictory
#GirlCrush Subscription Box

Bloody Mary Metal Necklace - This antler necklace made a lovely addition to my jewellery collection. It retails at £80.
#GirlCrush Subscription Box

Eternal Vibrance Japanese Matcha Green Tea Capsules - These capsules contain matcha green tea leaves and promise to aid weight management and boost metabolism. I haven't tried them yet but I'll let you know how I get on.
#GirlCrush Subscription Box

Sugar Tits Unicorn Bark - These cute treats satisfied my sweet tooth.
#GirlCrush Subscription Box
#GirlCrush Subscription Box

Amaki & Be Genki Face Oils - My box featured two different face oils. I have a sensitive and acne prone skin so I haven't tried any of them yet as I'm a bit scared they may make me break out in spots.
#GirlCrush Subscription Box

Kumari Hair Storage Bag - I admit that I wasn't entirely sure what this bag is for. However, after a Google search, I've realised that it is meant to be a storage for hair extensions. I don't own any but I'm sure I'll figure out how to use it in a different way.
#GirlCrush Subscription Box

Projekt Glitter Body Glitter- I'm not the biggest fan of covering my body in glitter but I used these glitters for a little crafting project the other day :)

Overall, I'm really pleased with the box and I can't wait to see what I get in April. However, I hope that in the future all subscribers receive a note listing all items and prices to give us a bit of a background on companies providing their products. It would save time as otherwise I'll need to do a Google search on each brand.

Have you heard of #GirlCrush box before? Is this a concept you would support? The monthly subscription costs £20. There is also an option to buy a one-off box for £30.

Gingham Bell Sleeve Top

Gingham bell sleeve top
Don't you just love it when you stumble upon a real gem while casually browsing shopping racks? Well, this happened to me not long ago when I popped to my local Primark store to kill some time before a meeting. I didn't plan to buy anything but when I laid my eyes on this gorgeous gingham bell sleeve top I knew I had to get it. Can you believe it was only £10?

I'm sure you all know that gingham has taken the fashion world by storm this season. The print, once associated with tablecloths and summer school uniforms, has got a new lease of life and is pretty much available in all forms. Whether you are looking for a gingham skirt, top or shoes, I guarantee you will find something on your local high street.

I have a feeling that this gingham bell sleeve top will quickly become a favourite of mine. It strikes a perfect balance between smart and casual so I can't wait to experiment and use it to create different looks. So far I've worn it with a pencil skirt to work and white jeans and khaki shoes on a dressed down day.

What do you think about the gingham print? Are you wearing it this spring?

Big Announcement - New Project Launching Soon!

New project launching soon
Happy Monday! I hope you're well and didn't miss me too much over the past week. I took a mini break to recharge my batteries and jetted off to Lisbon for a few days.

Now I'm back and I'm really excited to tell you about a top secret project I've been working on since the beginning of the year. After documenting my personal style on My Daily Wear for over 2 years, I'm ready to take the next step in the digital world...I'm launching an online magazine!

New project launching soon

I know too well how difficult it may be for some of you to accept your body and let go of insecurities. In the past I often felt like I was ugly and not good enough to deserve happiness. On top of that, I was incredibly shy and didn't believe in my abilities.

Hence, I've decided to create Her Hive as a platform to inspire women like my old self to be comfortable in their own skin and create a life they want. As I want to create a sense of community, there will be no taboos. I will cover topics such as fashion, health, relationships and mental health issues to name just a few.

I really hope that you will join me on this journey as I'll be launching the website on 29th May 2017. But don't worry...My Daily Wear is not going to disappear. However, in order to juggle everything, I'll posting two times a week from now on.

New In

Recent fashion buys
Some of you may remember that I was on a self-imposed shopping ban over the past 2 months. I'm proud to report that I made it. Yay! But before you congratulate me on having a strong willpower, I need to confess something - As soon as my ban came to a close, I went on a mini shopping spree. Oops...What can I say? A girl had to prepare her wardrobe for spring.

Do you want to know what I bought? Then carry on reading...

Dorothy Perkins khaki shoes

Khaki seems to be the new black. So when I spotted these beauties on Dorothy Perkins website, I knew they had to find their way to my collection.

Dorothy Perkins leopard print heels

Leopard print has really stood the test of time. While I'm not brave to don animal prints from head to toe, I think that every woman should have a pair of heels like that in her wardrobe to jazz up any look.

Primark cross body bag
Primark cross body bag
Primark has really stepped up their game this season. Can you believe that these small cross body bags were only £5 each. Aren't they cute?

What do you think of my picks? Have you bought anything recently?

P.S. I'm taking a mini break next week. I should be back with a new post on Friday, 31st March.
