Summer Shoes Wish List

"Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world."

Marilyn Monroe

I know I've said it already but I'm a massive shoe lover. I can't imagine my life without 105 pairs of shoes that are currently in my collection. Some people say that I'm mad for having that many shoes. Some ask me where I keep all of them.

I wouldn't necessarily call myself a crazy shoe lady. I simply admire the beauty of the shoes and believe that the right choice of footwear can really make an outfit.

With this in mind, today I wanted to show you my favourite picks for the summer which I spotted with my little eye while browsing the Internet during a sleepless night. I can't justify spending money on shoes right now but at least I can lust over them from a distance.

Look of the Day: Artisan Print

Artisan print blazer
Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. The weather was rather temperamental here in London but I managed to take advantage of a brief spell of sun to take photos for today's post.

You may remember this blazer from one of my posts from last month (here). I wore it for the first time on Saturday when I headed for lunch with my sister. As the artisan print of the jacket is quite unique, I wanted to make it the centre of attention. Hence I kept the rest of the outfit simple and wore my trusted M&S jeans and black vest.

Lavender Hues

Pastel outfit for the summer
A few months ago I wrote a blog post about common misconceptions about fashion bloggers, which proved to be one of the most popular posts that has appeared on My Daily Wear since its launch in 2014. If you haven't seen it, you can check it out here

When I tell people that I run a blog about fashion, they often wrongly assume that my wardrobe is filled to the brim with designer pieces which I chuck out every season. Isn't that crazy? Who would throw out their clothes after wearing them for a few months, especially if they cost a fortune?

If you read my blog from time to time, you know that over half of my wardrobe comes from a supermarket. I also constantly recycle my clothes and use them to create new looks as this is what fashion should be about.

For example, today I wanted to show you a lavender dress that debuted on my blog last summer. While back then I teamed it with a lavender satchel and beige shoes, this time I decided to sport lavender hues from head to toe.

I know I'm biased but I really like this pastel outfit. I think it's really feminine and perfect for the summer.

P.S. Please ignore the plasters on my feet. The day before I shot photos for this post, I wore shoes that were so uncomfortable.

Photo Diary: Trip to Brighton

Striped top, black blazer and jeans
Last week it finally felt like summer here in the UK. Overjoyed with the fact that the sun had returned, I decided to take advantage of the great weather and headed to Brighton.

I started my day by wandering around The Lanes that house a lot of charming shops, bars and restaurants. Later I paid a visit to the Royal Pavilion and chilled on the beach.

Below is the photo diary from my trip.

Tropical Wish List

With the summer solstice fast approaching, I can't stop thinking about sandy beaches and blue sea. Sadly, I don't think I'll be able to go on a holiday any time soon due to some personal reasons and job hunt.

Luckily tropical print trend made a comeback this year so those of us who can't jet off to the world's hottest holiday spots will be able to inject a bit of summer to our wardrobes.

I know it won't be the same as lounging on a beach but at least we won't come back with those inevitable tan lines. Hey, sometimes we need to look at the bright side of things :)

Tropical-inspired wish list

1. Tropical print fit and flare dress - Dorothy Perkins, £38
2. Tropical Bloom Wrap Dress - Bonprix, £29.99

How to Style a Pleated Skirt for an Evening Look

How I styled a pleated skirt
You may remember that some time ago I professed my love to pleated skirts. They are versatile and more flattering than you think so every woman should have one in her wardrobe.

Although I've featured pleated skirts on the blog so many times (for example here, here, here and here), I'll never stop thinking of new ways to style those pretty skirts.

This time I picked orange maxi, which initially debuted on My Daily Wear last August and like all other pleated skirts in my collection once belonged to my Mum. I paired it with an old lace top which reveals just the right amount of skin and my new nude slingbacks  for an evening look.

Red Culottes

Styling red culottes
If you're one of my regular readers (I truly hope you're), you may know that last year I decided to step out of my comfort zone and buy some coloured trousers (here and here). I was amazed to see that I can rock bold hues on my bottom without making it look like a giant whale (no offence to whales).

This year I went further and purchased red culottes. Although I'm no stranger to these hybrid trousers (I showed you a khaki pair here), if you told me earlier this year I'd wear their red version, I'd laugh out loud. Despite admiring them from a distance on other bloggers, I never thought I'd ever be able to pull bright culottes off.

However, when I spotted this red pair while browsing F&F website the other week, I decided to take the plunge and see if I can make red culottes work for me. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised when I tried them on.

What do you think of red culottes? Is there an item or a trend you thought you would never try but ended up loving it?

Last Month

May 2016 recap

Another month has come and gone. I don't know if you feel the same way but to me it seems that time is flying incredibly fast this year. Sometimes I wish I could have super powers to stop it.

I know I shouldn't complain as May was a great month for me blogging wise. My Daily Wear reached 700 followers on Bloglovin. It's a huge milestone for me so I would like to thank you all for your support.

Last month my blog was also recognised by the lovely team at JustFab who featured my 'Dreaming of Paris' look on their blog. When I started this little hobby of mine 20 months ago, I never dreamed of getting that far. Knowing that someone recognises my work means a lot to me :)

Here is my May in photos…
