My Little French Riviera Box

I've talked a lot on the blog about how much I love My Little Box, a monthly subscription service offering beauty and lifestyle products. It has become one of my monthly treats and I'm always so excited when it reaches my post box.

So, when earlier this month I found out that June's box will be slightly delayed, I was a bit gutted. However, My Little Box released a trailer to give us all a sneak preview of what to expect.

But without further ado, let me just show you what can be found inside June's box entitled My Little French Riviera Box. Created in collaboration with a French designer, Sarah Lavoine, it came in a super cute packaging and included three beauty products: My Little Beauty Sea Salt Scrub, Keratine Thermique Blow-Dry Care for Unruly Hair and Loved by Sarah Lavoine Nail Polish in blue. Sadly, the the nail polish is too bold for me but I gave it to my sister who was quite pleased with its lasting power.

When it comes to lifestyle products, June's box featured 2 plastic planters and retro looking sunglasses designed exclusively by Sarah. While I'm really happy with the sunglasses, I have rather mixed feelings towards the planters. They are supposed to be used as decorative holders over pots but their texture resembles Ikea shopping bags. Well, maybe I will think of other ways to use them but for the time being I keep the pots in my drawer.

What do you think about this month's box?

Look of the Night: Sassy Tube Skirt

Happy Saturday! I hope you are having a great weekend.

I'm taking a well deserved break before starting a new job on Wednesday. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time! I'm not sure what to expect but it will certainly be a step up for my career.

So to celebrate, last night I went out for a meal with my family. As I'm the type of person who prefers a quiet night in, I really wanted to make an effort and look my best.

Hence, I decided to opt for a tube skirt in a high-waisted, midi pencil style. It's really flattering and looks super cool thanks to the bold colour and stripes. And to make it even more sassy, I teamed it with a lace top, which reveals just the right amount of skin.

Not bad for a girl who prefers to wear comfy slippers rather than heels in the evening? Do you agree?

Minty Fresh

Summer pastels

I never thought I'd say that but I started falling in love with pastels.

As a huge fan of bold colours, I wasn't overly fond of softer hues. Well I may have had an odd pair of shoes in an eye candy shade but I didn't dare to wear pastels from head to toe.

But something has changed for me the moment I tried on the mint blazer, which I showed you last week (here). I was pleasantly surprised with how flattering the spearmint green looked on me so I decided to fully incorporate it into my summer wardrobe.

Do you wear pastels? What is your favourite shade?

1 Dress, 7 Ways Part 5

1 Dress 7 Ways Challenge

Do you remember my '1 Dress, 7 Ways Challenge'? If you don't, then let me quickly remind you that some time ago I came up with a challenge to motivate myslef to make the most of a simple dress that has been hanging at the bottom of my wardrobe (here).

I have to admit that styling that printed dress in so many ways is not an easy task. I know I could wear it with different blazers but that wouldn't necessarily be creative.

So, this time I decided to take a different approach and wear my dress as a tunic. It's a bit longer than tunics you can find in shops but overall I think it seems to work well with white jeans and nude heels.

Do you agree? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

P.S. See you on Wednesday!

Look of the Day: White Shirt, Blue Jeans

smart casual

For the past two days I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the changes going on in my life. If you read my post on Monday (here) you know that I got a new job. I'm starting on 1st July so I don't have long left to finish off existing projects and prepare a handover at my current workplace.

Hence, I can't really be bothered to spend ages in front of my wardrobe every day deciding what to wear. Instead I just opt for jeans and shirts to keep my outfits simple and to feel comfortable throughout long days in the office.

Look of the Day: Mint Hues

pastels for summer

I don’t know whether I have mentioned it on the blog previously but my mum is my biggest source of inspiration. Although she never spends a lot of money on clothes and shops on High Street or Tesco (like mother, like daughter), she has an impeccable style which I admire.

Hence, I often rummage through her wardrobe to see if I can 'steal' something. Luckily for me we live under the same roof and are pretty much the same size so I can have an unlimited access to her clothes :)

And when I went on my most recent hunt, I discovered this gorgeous old mint blazer.I think that it's simply amazing and could easily be mistaken as something from New Look or Dorothy Perkins. Can you believe it's at least 15 years old?

Apparently it came together with a matching pencil skirt but I couldn't find it anywhere. So instead I decided to team it with my white jeans and mint heels for a perfect summery look.

Work Dress Edit

Happy Monday. I hope you had a great weekend.

You may remember that a few weeks ago I told you about some changes happening in my life.  I didn’t want to say anything earlier not to jinx it but today I’m finally ready to share with you my little secret…I got a new job.

Although it’s been two weeks since I got a job offer, I still can’t believe this is real. I’m so excited and nervous at the same time as this is a very challenging opportunity. I’ll be working for a big company, which is a huge step for someone like me who is used to sitting alone in the office.

So to celebrate, I decided to treat myself to a new work dress. Well, every excuse to go shopping is good, right?!

I’m still deciding which one to choose but here are my top picks. Which one to choose? That's the question...

Look of the Day: Leather Jacket

leather jacket

Happy Friday! I hope you have had a great week.

I finally found some energy to exercise and decided to start spinning. I didn't think I would say that but I enjoy it and somehow manage to pedal for the whole 45 minutes. I think is quite an achievement as I'm certainly the type who avoids the gym like a plaque.

But lets change the topic and talk about clothes instead. As the weather is rather autumnal in the mornings, today I wanted to show you another leather jacket from my collection. Well, it was initially my Mum's but as soon as I spotted it in her wardrobe, I knew I had to have it.

I love the fact that it's a bit different from most leather jackets I see in shops thanks to the added belt. Plus it's very soft so it keeps me cosy and warm.
