Look of the Day: Monday

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend. It was a very low key affair for me as I spent the last two days in the comfort of my home recharging the batteries.

So now I'm ready to face the new week and this is what I'm wearing today….

Have a good week.

P.S. Please excuse the not so good quality of the photos. I took them yesterday and as you can see the weather in London wasn't very spring-like.

Look of the Day: Breton Top

I'm sure all of you have a breton striped top in your wardrobe. This simple garment introduced in 1858  as the uniform for the French navy has quickly evolved and become a classic staple worn by women around the world including "It girls" and Royalty.

For me, the breton top is synonymous with chic Parisian style. Although it looks good on its own, today I wanted to make it pop a little bit and teamed it with a chunky necklace. What do you think about that combination?

Yay, it's finally Thursday and the weekend is round the corner. I absolutely can't wait to take it easy as this week is so crazy at work. So, to save time in the morning and get ready in a matter of seconds, I rely on my staple items to feel comfortable and yet look like I mean business.

Trench Coat Top Picks

Happy Tuesday! I hope that your week has started on a good note. Yesterday I was super busy at work and then I went hunting for a perfect trench coat.

I absolutely love trench coats. They are the most versatile piece of clothing and something that every woman needs to have in her capsule wardrobe.

I have 2 coats in my collection but as they have been through a lot (too many coffee incidents), I think it's time to invest in a new one.

Sadly I can't afford an iconic Burberry trench but here are some of my purse-friendly picks.

Stone Crepe Trench Coat - H&M, £45.00

Buttonsafe Tipped Belted Mac - Marks & Spencer, £36.00

Cotton Trenchcoat - Zara, £79.99

Spring is Finally Here

Happy Friday everyone! As today marks the official start of spring, I’m even more excited about the upcoming weekend. The weather is still being capricious but neverthless I decided to wear some florals to get into spring mode. They are even bigger and better this season so if you are planning some spring celebrations, I’m sure you will find loads of inspiration.

Look of the Day (Yesterday): Dress for £5

Would you believe that this dress was on sale for just £5? I couldn't believe my eyes when I spotted it hanging on a rack in between T-shirts and oversized knits. It seemed too good to be true.

I absolutely love the print and a little peplum detail. It ticks all my boxes and ups my chic factor ;)

Monday Blues

When I woke up this morning, I wasn’t in the best mood. I think Monday blues had gotten to me and I wished I could stay in bed for the whole day.

But work comes first so I pulled myself together and got dressed. But to match my outfit to my mood, I opted for blue hues.

Quote of the Month

I absolutely love this quote as I'm a firm believer that money can't buy you style. Although I know many people who claim that you need to splash out on designer labels to be taken seriously, I always say that style is about being confident and embracing your own individuality. For me, stylish people are those who know how to have fun and choose flattering pieces to complement their look.

What do you think? Would you wear some just because it was expensive and is deemed fashionable?

Look of the Day: Cape

Happy Friday! I hope you've had a great week.

I'm so excited as spring is on its way. Days are getting longer and the sun has finally put his hat on. So to take advantage of the warmer weather, I decided to step out of the house without a coat. Instead I opted for a cape, which was also my 'best friend' during the colder season.

When flicking through fashion magazines, I couldn’t fail to notice the return of culottes. This unusual skirt/short hybrid once popular in the 80s came back with a bang.

I got these khaki cord culottes about 4 years ago but as I wasn’t sure how to style them (and was too lazy to take them back), I decided to bury them deep into the back of my closet. Fast-forward 4 years later here I’m giving them another go.

Although I’m not a fashion guru, I’ve certainly become more adept at the styling game. Over the years I’ve discovered what suits me best and learnt how to use fashion to show my real self.  I know that I often choose boring pieces but classics never fail.

With this in mind, I decided to team my culottes with a basic brown roll neck jumper and a simple pair of courts. I kept the accessories to minimum and opted for a bib necklace.

What do you think? How would you style culottes?

New In

I have a confession to make. My name is Izabela and I'm a shoe addict.

So, when I spotted this gorgeous bright yellow beauties in Dorothy Perkins, I knew they had to be mine. I absolutely love the floral pattern and the embellishment. It certainly makes the shoes look more expensive than they really were.

What do you think? I can't wait to take them out for the first outing soon.

Have you See My Antennas? ;)

I lost count how many times people asked me why I dressed like a bee yesterday? Did I really look like a flying insect?

Hmmm...after careful consideration I have to admit that my outfit may have looked a bit like a bumble bee costume but that wasn't my intention at all. I simply chose to team the stripey skirt with a black top to avoid colour overload. As the skirt is quite clingy, I also needed a top that I could easily tuck in.

Well, despite some criticism, I'm happy with my choice. What do you think? By the way, have you seen my antennas? ;)
