Coat Doesn't Have to Be Boring

Happy Friday! I hope you've all had a great week.

I couldn't wait any longer to show you the latest addition to my coat collection. Isn't it a real gem? I love the bright colour and the fit. It's just perfect and I could wear it non-stop.

Plus, I've noticed that it's a real head turner. Ever since I started wearing it, people on the street seem to pay me some attention. I even had ladies on the train asking me where I got it from. Well, this coat certainly isn't boring and at £17 it was a real bargain.

Blair Waldorf Inspired Look

Yesterday, I attended a Gossip Girl themed event organised by the lovely ladies at Bloggers Love Hub.  I have to confess that I'm a huge Gossip Girl fan and can easily spend 6 days in a row just watching the entire series once again.

So, when the invitation to the event advised everyone to dress as a favourite character from the series, I instantly knew I'd go as Blair Waldorf aka Queen B.

Blair was always a step ahead of the rest of the gang.  As she knew what she wanted, she never had to dress to impress. Her style was simply immaculate and she oozed confidence no matter what she wore.

Although I don't have designer wardrobe and can't fly to Paris to do a bit of shopping, I've always liked classic and polished looks like hers. Shift dresses, pencil skirts and blouses are my thing.

Hence, yesterday I decided to opt for a black skirt, blazer and a cream blouse with a bow tie I bought a few years ago. The blouse has a nice lace finish on the collar but sadly you can't see it on the photos. To top up the entire look, I added a structured bag and pop of colour in the form of two tone heels.

What do you think? Did I manage to channel my inner Blair?

Pink Day

I think it's time I should officially declare my love to fluffy jumpers. Despite already having 4, I couldn't resist when I spotted this pink one on a sale rack at Tesco. I was instantly drawn to its rich pink hues which are so girly and remind me of the childhood times when I played with Barbie dolls.

My Little Frenchie Box

Hello everyone. I hope you're having a great weekend.

Today's post will be different as I wanted to show you My Little Box, a cute box full of goodies that I get in the post every month.

I never tried beauty subscription boxes in the past as I have a sensitive skin on my face and need to be careful about what products I use. Plus, I heard that they all offer similar boring samples so I didn't want to spend money on something that won't excite me.

However, when I found out about My Little Box, I knew I had to give it a go. It's a new  concept that does not only include beauty products, but also lifestyle/fashion accessories, cute illustrated postcards and a magazine which makes for an interesting read.

So let me show you what I found inside this month's box titled 'My Frenchie Box' which was designed by Chanels's muse, Ines de la Fressange.

Just like all previous boxes, My Little Frenchie Box included a selection of fab beauty products: a L'Oreal Brown Pencil, My Little Beauty Embellisher and the Terrybly Khol Pencil by Terry. There was also DHC Blotting Paper which will definitely come in handy as my skin is prone to oiliness in the T-Zone.

When it comes to lifestyle products, there was a lovely fabric pouch-like smartphone case with extra pockets and a little pot of 28 messages that can be used as a pick-me-up. I keep it next to my bed and read one every morning before I go to work.

What do you think of My Little Box. I certainly can't wait for the March edition.

Look of the Day

Happy Friday! The long-awaited weekend is almost here. Do you have any plans? I'm still curing my cold so I will spend the next two days in the comfort of my home reading books and sipping hot chocolate.

And here is what I'm wearing today. Have a great day :)

Bag of the Day

Hi, how's your week going so far. I came down with a cold and look bleugh so instead of posting my pictures and scaring you off, I will show you a leopard print bag which was hidden at the back of my wardrobe for quite a while.

The bag was a gift but as animal prints weren't my favourite at the time, I didn't quite like it. Hence, I buried it in my closet convinced that it will never see daylight again.

However, as time passed, my taste has evolved, too. I completely changed my mind about this bag and I'm sure it will feature on the blog once again.

Look of the Day: Woolie Pleated Skirt

Hello, how're you? I hope that you all had a great weekend regardless of whether you celebrated Valentine's Day with your loved one, went out with your friends or had a quiet weekend in.

I spent my Sunday rummaging through my mum's wardrobe. As we are both the same size, I often open her closet to see if I can 'borrow' something.

You won't believe how happy I was when I stumbled across this pleated skirt. I remember my mum buying it from a small independent boutique back in Poland many year ago. Back then it was her favourite skirt and she used to wear it with knee-high boots and roll neck jumpers.

Today I wanted to try something different so I teamed the skirt with a white shirt and a long necklace. As coat is a must in this cold weather, I picked the grey marl one I showed you last week.

What do you think about the look? Do you 'borrow' clothes from your mum?

My Favourite Little Black Dress

Following on from the "Quote of the Month", today I wanted to show you my favourite little black dress. Although it's nothing fancy, it makes me feel very feminine.

The dress has a lovely lace detail on the back so in order to show it off and don't turn into an ice cube I put a white shirt underneath. And to jazz the outfit a little bit, I decided to add a statement ethnic inspired necklace and snake print metallic heels which I found under the tree last Christmas.

How Romantic Are You?

Although I personally don’t celebrate Valentines Day and this post won’t be fashion related at all, I wanted to quickly share with you an interesting iconographic prepared by the lovely people at Ocean Finance to which I also contributed (there’s a small quote from me there but I won't tell you which one ;))

Ahead of the most romantic day of the year, they were asking bloggers about all things related to romance. From how they met their partner to what happens when they decide to get married (here).

Well, I have to say the findings are very interesting and you may laugh at some stats. Plus if you are quick and enter Ocean Finance competition today, you can win £75 Valentine’s Day meal on them. Just go to https://twitter.com/Ocean_Finance/status/565204870404509696

Good luck!

Quote of the Month

It's the second week of February so it's time for the 'Quote of the Month.'

If you read my first ever guest post, you know that I can't live without an LBD. So, even though I usually find Karl Lagerfeld to be quite controversial, this time I completely agree with him.

Little black dress is the most versatile piece of clothing and you can certainly never go wrong with it.

Look of the Day: High Waisted Trousers

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend.

We had some sunshine here in London yesterday so I decided to make a good use of the weather and take some photos for today's post.

I know that my 'Looks of the Day' are nothing out of ordinary but I just love simplicity and clean cuts. So after finding this high waisted trousers at the bottom of my wardrobe the other day, I really couldn't wait to wear them to work.

Although high waisted trousers go in and out of fashion all the time, I absolutely love them. In my opinion the style is very flattering and suits all body shapes. It certainly allows me to forget about the unsightly muffin top.

What do you think about high waited trousers? Do you own a pair?

My First Guest Post

Earlier this week I had a pleasure to write my first ever guest post thanks to the lovely Raluca from Everydayfacts. I love reading her blog so I was chuffed when she offered me a chance to contribute to her 'Posts by Friends' series.

Every week she asks fellow bloggers to write about their ultimate must have item. As I can't live without an LBD, I instantly knew what subject to pick. But I'm not going to tell you everything about my post. Feel free to check it out here

Have a good weekend.

Shoe Wish List

"A girl can never have too many shoes"

I completely agree with this statement and believe that a person who introduced it must have been a true shoe lover like me.

I recently did an inventory of my collection and discovered I have over 60 pairs of shoes, including trainers, boots and wellies. My family thinks I have enough to get me through the next few seasons but I'm sure my shoe cupboard will soon need to be extended, especially now when I discovered Online Avenue and their shoe section.

Here are my top picks:

New In

Do you remember about the January clothes shopping ban I imposed on myself last month? I'm pleased to report that I succeeded and didn't spend a penny.

I was so good until yesterday when I spotted this lovely floral swing dress in Tesco. I instantly fell in love with it as I simply adore the print and the colour. Plus, it was in the sale for only £9 so I had to have it.

Have you bought anything nice recently? I'd love to hear about your purchases.

Last Month

Happy Monday! I can't believe it's already February. Time seems to fly faster every year.

Today I'm excited to introduce you to the 'Last Month' series which is the new addition to My Daily Wear. I thought it would be a nice way to summarise each month and show you my favourite photos from the blog and my Instagram feed.

So, lets start….
